Vail Buick GMC is excited about the new 2017 GMC Acadia. It has been ten years after the first generation of the Acadia launched. Usually vehicle sales decrease over time, but the Acadia has continued to experience success each year of the last decade. This fact alone makes the new Acadia an exciting prospect.
The new Acadia is a redesigned midsize crossover with even more versatility and safety technologies. It is smaller and has more car-like handling abilities than the previous model.
This crossover has more efficient powertrains, as it offers GMC’s first application of stop-start technology to improve fuel economy. The available engines include a standard 2.5-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder or a 3.6-liter V-6, which has 4,000 pounds of towing capability.
As for the interior, the Acadia has three rows of seating on most models and a long list of technology. This includes the GMC IntelliLink connectivity system, front pedestrian braking, following distance indicator, and lane keep assist.
The 2017 Acadia is 7.2 inches shorter and 700 pounds lighter than the model it replaces. Despite the smaller size, it will still be the larger than GMC’s Terrain compact SUV.
