Bedford Hills, New York is a great place to live or visit. Although it is only an hour from the Manhattan, it contains all the necessities of small town charm. Here are some of our favorite places to visit in Bedford Hills.
The Katonah Museum of Art – This museum is one of the most celebrated small museums in the country. The understanding and enjoyment of visual arts is promoted to a diverse audience through innovative exhibitions and education programs. Ideas about art, culture and society in both the past and present are explored in the exhibits.
Rainbeau Ridge – This is a “real and accessible” farm, was created in 2002 to serve a place for people to connect with the land and appreciate and use natural resources available. There is a small-scale egg operation, a restored orchard, cheese house, bee hives, and much more. This farm also offers a variety of educational programs for children and adults, as this farm is committed to having farming be part of connecting the local community. Although it’s on limited operations right now, we hope to see it back in full force soon!
John Jay Homestead – This is where the first chief justice of the Supreme Court lived for 28 years at the end of his life. This homestead has been restored to 1820s grandeur and largely furnished with original pieces. There is also a gallery with rotating exhibits on the estate, as well as 62 acres of woodland, meadows, and gardens great for hiking, taking pictures, and having picnics.
These are just a few of the great places to visit in Bedford Hills, and we at Vail Buick GMC are proud to be part of such a charming community.
